Seller Agreement

This Seller Agreement ("Agreement") governs your participation as a seller on CraftCove. By applying for and maintaining a seller account, you agree to the terms outlined below, in addition to the general Terms of Service.
1. Seller Eligibility
To become a seller on CraftCove, you must:
- Have an active CraftCove account in good standing.
- Apply for seller status through your Settings page. All applications are reviewed by the CraftCove team.
- Demonstrate that your products are genuinely handmade, hand-assembled, or hand-designed.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have the legal right to sell the products you list in your jurisdiction.
CraftCove reviews each seller application individually. Approval is at CraftCove's sole discretion. We may request additional information or documentation during the review process.
2. Product Listing Standards
All product listings on CraftCove must meet the following standards:
- Handmade Requirement: All items must be handmade, hand-assembled, or hand-designed by the seller. Mass-produced, factory-made, or machine-manufactured goods are not permitted.
- Accurate Descriptions: Product titles, descriptions, materials, dimensions, and other details must accurately represent the item. Misleading information may result in listing removal.
- Original Photography: Product photos should be your own and accurately represent the actual item for sale. Stock photos or images from other sources are not allowed.
- Caribbean and Artisan Focus: CraftCove specializes in Caribbean and handcrafted goods. While sellers from any location are welcome, products should align with the marketplace's artisan and craft-focused identity.
New sellers' listings are reviewed by the CraftCove moderation team before going live. Once you are verified as a trusted seller, new listings are published immediately.
3. Pricing and Fees
Sellers set their own product prices. CraftCove applies the following fees:
- Platform Commission: 10% of the sale price on each completed transaction. This covers platform maintenance, marketplace exposure, customer support infrastructure, and dispute resolution services.
- Payment Processing Fees: Standard Stripe processing fees apply and are deducted separately from the transaction amount.
- Listing Fees: CraftCove does not charge any fees to list products. There are no monthly subscription or membership fees.
CraftCove will provide at least 30 days notice before any changes to the commission rate.
4. Payments to Sellers
Seller payments are processed through Stripe Connect:
- Sellers must connect a Stripe account through their Dashboard settings to receive payouts.
- After the 10% platform commission and Stripe processing fees are deducted, the remaining amount is transferred to the seller's Stripe account.
- Payout timing depends on your Stripe account settings and country. Typical payouts occur within 2-7 business days after the transfer is initiated.
- If a seller has not connected a Stripe account, transfer amounts are recorded as "pending" and will be transferred once the account is connected.
Sellers are responsible for any taxes or reporting obligations associated with their sales income.
5. Shipping Responsibilities
Sellers are fully responsible for shipping and fulfillment:
- Ship all orders within 3 business days of receiving the order confirmation.
- Provide tracking information whenever available through the order management system in your Dashboard.
- Package items securely to prevent damage during transit. Handcrafted items require extra care in packaging.
- Clearly communicate shipping costs, estimated delivery times, and international shipping availability in your listings.
- If you are unable to fulfill an order, contact the buyer promptly and arrange a cancellation through the Platform.
6. Returns and Disputes
CraftCove maintains a 14-day return window from the date of delivery:
- Buyers may request a return within 14 days for items that do not match the listing description, are damaged, or are defective.
- Sellers are expected to handle return requests professionally and in good faith.
- Custom or personalized items may be exempt from returns if clearly stated in the listing.
- If a buyer and seller cannot resolve a dispute, CraftCove's support team will mediate. Both parties will communicate with the platform separately through private dispute threads.
- CraftCove may issue refunds (full or partial) at its discretion to resolve disputes. Refund amounts will be deducted from the seller's account.
7. Content and Intellectual Property
Sellers retain full intellectual property rights to their product designs, descriptions, and photographs. By listing on CraftCove, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your content for the purpose of operating and promoting the marketplace.
You represent and warrant that you have the right to sell the products you list and that your listings do not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights.
8. Account Suspension
CraftCove may suspend a seller account for the following reasons:
- Repeated violations of listing standards or product quality requirements.
- Listing prohibited items (counterfeit, mass-produced, or dangerous goods).
- Failure to fulfill orders or respond to buyer inquiries.
- Fraudulent activity or misuse of the Platform.
- Receiving excessive justified disputes or negative reviews.
Sellers will be notified of the reason for suspension and may appeal through CraftCove's messaging system. Pending orders must be fulfilled before account closure. CraftCove reserves the right to permanently terminate seller accounts for severe or repeated violations.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time:
- Sellers may close their shop and deactivate their seller account through their Dashboard settings.
- All pending orders must be fulfilled or cancelled before account closure.
- Outstanding payouts will be processed according to the normal payout schedule.
- CraftCove may terminate a seller's account immediately for serious violations of this Agreement.
10. Changes to This Agreement
CraftCove may update this Seller Agreement from time to time. We will notify sellers of material changes via email and a prominent notice in the seller Dashboard. Continued use of the Platform as a seller after changes are communicated constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement.
